an outstanding guide to reiki

"The Complete Book of traditional Reiki" is true to the history of Reiki, and bridges to the challenges of our modern time. Amy Rowland notes, "what Reiki does provide is a direct, profound experience of the healing power of Spirit-guided life-force energy." This book is about healing oneself, others, and hopefully collectively the world. Lofty ideals. But its style is easy to read, and it makes what are often complex and mystical concepts simple and approachable. Amy Rowland is consistently respectful to historical Reiki, not by deification as sometimes mistakenly occurs, but by as accurately and intellectualy honestly placing founder Mikao Usui, and Sensei Hawayo Takata, in context of the personal struggles they faced. This honesty makes Reiki more human, more accessible, and more relevant to us. We are imperfect people in an imperfect world, often needing method to face a day with compassion rather than anger, and hope rather than with despair. As a Hospice physician, I appreciate that Amy Rowland's book is healing not only in its approach to human suffering, but in its approach to respecting and bridging conventional and complementary healthcare. It is healing as well, in its inclusiveness and respect of all lineages of Reiki. Whether a beginner wanting to know something about Reiki, or for a practitioner experienced in Reiki, the author's approach brings elegance and clarity to Reiki.

Excellent and Best Reiki Text

I read this book a couple of times, and it is extremely easy to read and it is also very understandable. I already have the book and will now get the kindle edition so I can refer to it when I am not home. Not only is it good for students, but it is also great for Reiki masters to know how to explain the ideas in a very clear manner to their students. I keep going back to this book and I think it is the best reiki book out there.
