About the Author
J. Paul Peter is James R. McManus-Bascom Professor and Chair of the Marketing Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business. He has taught courses in consumer behavior and in marketing management, strategy, research and theory. He's also taught in a variety of executive programs. Peter won the prestigious William O'Dell Award from the Journal of Marketing Research and twice was a finalist. He is author or editor of more than 30 books and is one of the most cited authors in marketing literature. Peter has served on review boards of the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, and Journal of Business Research. He has consulted for several corporations and the Federal Trade Commission. His earned a DBA from the University of Kentucky.

Awesome book

I took a class at UCLA extension and this was the textbook we had to use. I have to say that what I learned from this one book and class is more valuable and useful to me than everything I learned while getting my degree in business. The science of why we buy and motivating factors is explained with concise clarity. Very easy to understand and perfectly written.

Most Consumer Behavior books I read confused me with a wide array of definitions, issues and topics that are not interweaved well enough, however, this book was different. This book wonderfully explained the concept of means-end analysis and once you understand this important concept, you could breeze through all the remaining chapters. well written, good case examples and more.

Cute story and good idea!

Zora decided to grow zucchini, and ends up with a huge surplus....even after her family is eating it for every meal! So she comes up with the idea of a garden swap with the neighbors.

I have to admit I chose this book because we do exactly this with a group of friends in summer....and like Zora, I once got a free zucchini plant and it was more prolific than expected! (Just one plant of very viny white zucchini.....it grew to 45 feet long!). But the 4 yr old I babysit liked the story a lot too....the language is simple enough for the younger members of the picture-book set, but not so simple that it would bore a seven- or eight-year-old. The illustrations---sort of primitive folk-arty watercolor-and-stencil maybe?-- are bright and cheerful. And I don't get tired of reading it aloud.

Best of all it may inspire your young reader to try his or her own vegetable gardening!

What a great story that engages kids' natural curiosity and creativity! My 17 mo girl and nephew (7 yo) love Zora's Zucchini along with the sister book, Sylvia's Spinach! I love the part that Zora shares the harvest with her neighbors - such a fundamental element of any food cultures. Zora's Zucchini will surely resonate in everyone, whether you like zucchini or not. It is more than a story about growing zucchini, but about how growing food and sharing food build a community with joy!

The term 'fascia' here describes the soft tissue component of the connective tissue system that permeates the human body. This includes not only dense planar tissue sheets (like septa, joint capsules, aponeuroses, organ capsules, or retinacula), which may be also called "proper fascia", but it also encompasses local densifications of this network in the form of ligaments and tendons. Additionally it includes softer collagenous connective tissues like the superficial fascia or the innermost intramuscular layer of the endomysium. While not everybody will be happy with this new terminology, it offers many important advantages for the field. Rather than having to draw most often arbitrary demarcation lines between joint capsules and their intimately involved ligaments and tendons (as well as interconnected aponeuroses, retinacula and intramuscular fasciae), fascial tissues are seen as one interconnected tensional network that adapts its fiber arrangement and density according to local tensional demands. This terminology fits nicely to the Latin root of the term 'fascia' (bundle, bandage, strap, unification, binding together) and is synonymous with the non-professional's understanding of the term "connective tissue" (in contrast to medical and biological scientists, which include cartilage, bone and even blood as connective tissue).

Brings the fascial system and its treatment to a new level

For the first time all of the so called "pressure points", many acupunture points, trigger points, and tender points throughout the body are explained in relation to the function of the fascial system. Luigi Stecco, PT, has treated these fascial points for years and now with the help of his daughter Carla Stecco M.D. who is a premier fascial researcher, corroborates the points with cadaver studies of the fascia. We no longer have to manually treat a point just because it is tender. We can now correlate the point with functional testing of what they call myofascial units. After treatment of each of these fascial restrictive points within the unit a practitioner can retest the movement to see if the painful loss of movement has improved.

wonderful book

I've been treating patients for 18 years and believe this to be one of the best instructional manuals that I have come across. I have paid thousands to learn ART, Graston and CCEP. Those courses are great but for the cost of this manual and course it is most cost effective. In my opinion CCEP and Fascial manipulation course provide the best instruction for a sequence of possible probable areas to treat.

This book is fantastic, a must have if you work in any way with soft tissue/fascia.

This is one of the better text books I have ever seen if you are working with soft tissue and fascia. The slides of fascia are some of the best available. The content is excellent and the images used really help make this text easy to comprehend and utilize. I would also recommend taking the course with Stecco, Fascial Manipulation.
