Dr. Robert Puff, M.A., M.Div., Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist, author, international speaker, marriage counselor, and life coach who has been successfully counseling individuals, families, organizations, and businesses for over twenty-five years.
A contributing writer to Psychology Today with a private practice in the Orange County area, he is recognized as one of California's leading therapists and mental health management experts. A Reminder That Even Today a Life of Peace is Possible

I have relatives that have been unemployed for far longer than they ever thought that they would be. I have neighbors that have been forced to sell their homes at a fraction of what their homes were worth 5 years ago. I have aging parents who lost most of their net worth in the stock market and I have co-workers who have taken in their college graduate children and their aging parents because neither can support themselves financially. These are times where finding peace in your life can be a struggle.
Dr. Robert Puff has written a book that all of us need to read. It is a book that reminds us that the key to being at peace, the key to being happy have nothing at all to do with Wall Street, nothing to do with the housing crisis and nothing to do with anything in our external world.
This is not your "la la land", lets all sing Kumba Ja and make our troubles go away book. This is a book that spells out the roots of disappointments and explains, in English, how to avoid the pitfalls that cause us all to stress out, to become fearful and to despair.
At one point, Dr. Puff reminds us that, "Don't forget that happiness is a transient state of being. Like everything else, your current situation will pass and then there will be another state of being, and another. Let go of the outcome of those situations." By reminding us of the transient state of happiness, he reminds us that fear, stress and unhappiness will pass as well.
My grandmother was a huge prayer. One day I asked what she was praying for. I expected her to say that she was praying for better health, for me to get an 'A' on my math test or for my father to make more money.
My grandmother told me that she never prayed to God for an easier life because easy and hard had no real meaning. She explained that her prayers asked that God give her the strength to be the kindest, strongest and best person that she could be.
Dr. Puffs teachings echo my grandmother's teachings, the teachings of the serenity prayer and many of the teachings of the Christian Bible, the Bhagavad-Gita and the sacred writings of the Hindu philosophy. Unlike those teachings,however, Dr. Puff has written a modern book with concrete instructions of how to live a life that will bring peace and happiness.
This is a book written for anyone struggling with circumstances that are causing them stress, angst, anger or simply a lack of inner peace. Get this book, read it, internalize it and put Dr. Puff's advice into action. You will be so happy that you did.

A Gentle Primer on Living in Peace

Dr. Robert Puff's guide on how to live in peace and be happy is a written in such a way that you feel guided in the behaviors that you can implement in order to simplify, enjoy and appreciate your life.
The author gives examples and anecdotes regarding the traps that we fall into that lead us to unhappiness that had me nodding my head in recognition continuously. For me, reading this book reminded me of how our thoughts dictate our feelings.
I have studied Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and I see this book as almost a layman's primer to CBT. Much of what is in this book, in the form of guidance, can be had by attending 6-8 very expensive Psychiatric or Psychological counseling sessions. Reading this book is more enjoyable, more affordable and easier than therapy and I recommend it highly.
After finishing this book I felt replenished. You know that feeling that you get, in your gut, when you have just gotten a second breath? This book made me feel that way.
