iPhoneography PRO by Robert Morrissey is my go to reference book for fantastic, tips, tricks, and sophisticated techniques to apply to my everyday use for the camera in my iPhone. The iPhone has become my daily carry when it comes to photography and has proved to becom an invaluable addition to my collection of camera gear. Knowing asa much as possible about gear as a photographer is paramount, the iPhone is no exception.

By utilizing the techniques laid out in the book, I can capture photo opportunities with complete confidence, that they will not be crap produced on some apple product, rather, I can capture, edit and print all with in minutes, and make the pictures look amazing as well. The book explains the benfits of specific apps, workflow and editing. There are even some lighting techniques explained as well!

As a professional photographer, iPhoneography PRO is a great addition to my collection of resources. I even keep it out on the coffee table to be able to open it up and learn something when I'm doing nothing on my couch.

The book is full of pictures that made me second guess if they were really shot with an iPhone. They all are and look great.

This book is for the beginning photographer who wants to gain a simple to advanced understanding of photography with modern tools, and for the proffessional who wants to take full advantage of all the arrows in the quiver and learn some no things along the way.

Great tips for personal store pics

I became very interested in this book to help me improve the photos I take of my handmade Tree of Life pendants. I was never able to take photos that really showed the vibrant colors or intricate details in my pendants, and I felt that it was hurting my sales. Robert's book gave me several great ideas as to how to approach taking my photos, from altering lighting to careful utilization of a large array of filter apps. I have just started to scratch the surface of employing his techniques, and I can already tell a significant difference in my photos. I also appreciate that, while the book is geared toward the professional photographer, Robert wrote it in such a way that even I could follow along throughout. This is a must get book if you want to improve your iPhone Photography!!!

I’ve been enjoying photography for the better part of my life, almost 50 now and have been shooting since I was 12… Three years ago I chose to retire my old 35mm equipment for a DSLR, an iPad 3 and an iTouch 5 and to start pursuing a goal of over 22 years to be able to produce my own limited edition art and photo prints with investing in a large format photo printer… At first I thought the iPad and iTouch would be only good for showing my portfolio and basic pocket photo abilities on hand always with me… Once I saw the quality of the iPad 3 and iTouch 5 in photo enlargements and seeing so many people starting to use smart phones as their go to device for taking photos, I was hooked and started a 2nd business aimed at mobile photo print service…

Robert Morrissey's book- iPhoneography Pro is a well written, easy to understand and well laid out design with quality information, examples and images making it easy to understand… I have already recommended this to many of my friends who use their iPhones as their main source of taking photos to help them improve their iPhone imaging experience and memories…

An excellent collection!

PLOT OR PREMISE:
This book is an amazing collection of 36 shortstories from a master storyteller combining romance, history, danger, twists, international intrigue, and domestic angst.

WHAT I LIKED:
"A really nice mix, particularly some of the ones with twist endings. Here is an overview of each of the stories and the ratings for each.
.
- NEVER STOP ON THE MOTORWAY: Woman driver is chased by a van down the motorway, with the context backlit by recent rapes and murders. Fantastic twist. 5.00
- OLD LOVE: Two competitors, one boy, one girl compete against each other in everything including who loves the other more and are inseparable throughout life. 4.50
- SHOESHINE BOY: Mountbatten (sic) pays a visit to St. George's where a drastically underfunded Governor rolls out the red carpet. 4.50
- CHEAP AT HALF THE PRICE: Mrs. Rosenheim wants a bauble from the jewelry store but has to play hustle to get the men in her life to commit to buying it. 4.00
- BROKEN ROUTINE: A man whose routine is unflappable is somewhat disturbed by a brash youth on the train who wants to read his paper and smoke his cigarettes. Nice twist. 4.50
- AN EYE FOR AN EYE: A woman has an alibi for the death of her husband: she was not only in the hospital (although the time is shaky) but also blind...or is she? 4.00
- THE LUNCHEON: A up and coming man takes an attractive (married) woman to lunch to try and get business favours. Unfortunately lunch is expensive and he has no budget. 3.50
- THE COUP: Two business rivals are stranded in Nigeria during a coup, and they end up resolving their differences and being the real coup. 3.50
- THE PERFECT MURDER: A man commits an accidental murder of his mistress after finding out she was also stepping out with another man, and manages to frame the man for the murder. Cute twist at end. 4.00
- YOU'LL NEVER LEARN TO REGRET IT: David is dying of AIDS and leaving everything to Pat. They trick the insurance company despite his condition and collect handsomely on David's death. But insurance companies are sometimes trickier than one might think, as are their brokers. 3.75

The best of Archer in 1 volume...quite a posession...!

This collection just thunders along at a hectic pace and you cannot wait to turn over the page to reveal the next twist in the tale. The stories are a mixture of humour, melancholy, utter suspense and bewilderment, and therefore keep the reader moving along at an exhilirating. Its not a book to be read in one sitting but rather savoured at many moments during the reading cycle...!

A fabulous read. Mr Archer's magic combination of irony, wit and suspense come together in so many different ways in this collection. The beauty of a book of short stories is that you never get bored or tired of the story. You don't have a chance-you just have to keep reading!!
From murder and suspense in "The Perfect Murder" to bitter irony in "The Chinese Statue" Mr Archer's collection is a broad range of clever stories with the usual Archer twist-just to keep you puzzled!!!

I will be using as a key text... Very excited to finally have a book for my course.

An excellent book with useful and applicable approaches to clarifying the stages and processes in the current practice. Good for both product and communication design.

Inspiring

Remodel did so many things for me. The book inspired and motivated me to lead myself better through mental models, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness. Once we know how to lead ourselves, the author writes how we could lead others by being ourselves. The book guides us how to create our world that is calmer, understanding, responsible, accountable, resilient, nonreactive, joyful, creative, and loving. Who wouldn't want to be led by someone with a life like that? This leads to personal freedom.

The book made me think a lot and learn that I could have flexibility in my beliefs. I can change my beliefs more easily now and I feel freer. I feel myself getting calmer, less judgmental, and less stressed. The author wrote, "You can change your beliefs more easily than you can change the world." Remodel set me free like the way Michelangelo set David free.

This book consists of 73 chapters (short) with different models (beliefs) and exercises that guide readers to discover their meaning, value, importance, purpose (MVIP). These are the basic ingredients to live a richer and more fulfilling life. The more MVIP we can build the more we can improve. The writing is easy to understand and personal because the author organized the chapters in the order he changed his mental models. The author makes insightful points that even if you are skeptical of his models, you begin to think and make sense of them. I could see the transformation he went through so it inspires me to do the same. If he did it, I think we all can.

The exercises are easy and cost-free. They're fun also. The 3-raisin exercise amazingly improved my self-awareness. I tried the feedforward exercise with couple people and now I'm more comfortable to try more if it. It improves social skills and it leads to making new friends because I still keep in touch with them. This book is resourceful because if I get stuck in a belief that's not improving my life, I can go back to his chapters and refocus on how to replace my old belief with a new one.

Remodel is helping me take charge of my life, improve relationships, and live a more balanced, relaxing, and fun life. This book shows that we could do something to live life to the fullest like the cathedral builder. I highly recommend this book to everyone because there are many important skills we could learn or relearn to live a richer, more meaningful, and freer life.

Getting to the point: Our Belief Systems

There are ample tomes on self-improvement methods that are weighing down the libraries and book stores of the world. ReModel is a quick instruction set for living into better models, whatever they may be, to shape our lives. While the short and easy to read chapters are meant for our lightning-fast 21st Century lives, actually living the material will take time and practice. Dr. Spodek's book is not yet available on paper but he has done us all a favor by creating a Kindle book that is illustrated with lots of links to rich-media that help tell the larger complex story of how he arrived at his leadership creation methods. I am now on my second read through the book…looking forward to reporting on my results. Because I am currently engaged in lots of academic reading, I really appreciate how Spodek gets to the point, simply and effectively.

I like the author's view of beliefs. Reading what he had to say about that made the book worth the cost for me.

I did not like the errors I saw in the book. I believe there are many grammatical errors in it.

About the Author
Tom Barber is a Director of the Contemporary College of Therapeutic Studies and tutors in the certificate, diploma and advanced diploma courses. He assists in both the curriculum development and running of courses. He has spent 16 years in full time practice as an Analytical and Cognitive Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist and Integrative Counselor. Sandra Westland is also a Director of the Contemporary College of Therapeutic Studies. She has worked for many years in education as a highly qualified senior teacher in a secondary school, before starting her own private hypnotherapy practice. She has been training in hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and counseling for the past eight years.

Peeking into minds of two hypnotherapists

Thinking Therapeutically affords a rare look into the minds of two seasoned hypnotherapists as they discuss sessions with actual clients. This book is especially ideal for beginning hypnotherapists. After describing how they each became a therapist, Barber and Westland alternately author chapters, each with a thorough case study, session transcript, commentary, the other author's evaluation, and a session follow-up.

The authors adroitly describe interventions that are a hypnotherapist's stock-in-trade: anchoring, swish pattern, parts work, guided imagery, dream analysis, regression, and hypnoanalysis. They explain how to treat a range of typical, yet often challenging issues such as agoraphobia, internal conflict, irritable bowel syndrome, and eating disorders. The text is reminiscent of the conversation between Erickson and Rossi in The February Man. With stark and touching honesty, the authors share perceptions, feelings, and even uncertainties.

Reading between therapy sessions with my own clients, I mentally conversed with the authors and reflected more closely on my own internal process. The book reminded me of two things: First, how much therapists need one another as sounding boards; Second, how psychotherapy differs from most other occupations in that we bring to our work not only our skills, but elements of ourselves - our histories and emotions. It always amazes me how we softly tread between professional objectivity and the ability to engage fully with clients expressing their most private emotions and thoughts. Barber and Westland describe that process with remarkable precision.

A great resource if you are interested in a few of the techniques used in hypnotherapy by two genuine and wonderful practitioners and teachers, Tom and Sandra.

I think that the book hits the mark perfectly in balancing content with technical knowledge and is presented in a very approachable, honest and human way. Having been trained by Tom in 1999, I can attest to the techniques and write-ups as authentic and in alignment with what I learned.

I don't view this book as a training book on Hypnotherapy per se, but more a view into the hypnotherapy process from three vantage points: The Client, the Therapist and The Reviewer (in this case Tom reviewing Sandra's case studies and visa-versa), with each perspective important to understanding how great therapy works and why peer reviews are a necessary and on-going part of reputable clinical practice.

If you are in training as a hypnotherapist or interested in hypnotherapy, I can't imagine a better book than "Thinking Therapeutically: Hypnotic Skills and Strategies Explored." Well done Tom & Sandra and thank you for taking the time putting this together.

Thinking Therapeutically

An excellent book clearly and concisely written. Ater a thorough explanation of the original theory behind the technique, the technique itself is clearly described, followed by a case study showing how it can be applied.
I particularly enjoyed Tom and Sandra's frank and honest assessment of their own and each other's case studies subtly reminding us:
the importance of reflection on the session - how it affected us,
how we could have done it differently,
acknowledging, even experienced therapists are human and don't always get it completely right,
and recognising that it's the clients own journey, we can only take them as far as they are ready to go.
